I-Ching – An ancient Chinese oracle and has been around for about 500 years. The I Ching, or, in English, Book of Changes is an ancient Chinese system of divination. The I ching aids in foretelling the future by mapping out the continual cyclical changes that occur throughout life. The use of trigrams represents the powerful forces of nature that surrounds the person. An oracle is cast by flipping coins or more traditionally, by manipulating yarrow stalks. The oracle is one of 64 different hexagrams. The hexagram itself is composed of two trigrams, each consisting of three lines. Those lines are either straight (or Yang) or broken (Yin).

Aura – an energy field that is around living things. It is detected by psychic power or special equipment.

Clairvoyant – hear or see and sense things that are distinct in time or space.

Medium – communicates with the spirits of the dead, they mediate between our world and the spirit world.

Ouija Board – spirits move the pointer and guide it around the board with words and letters. (See Page 2)

Psychic – sense or communicate in various ways, most are born with the abilities.

Psychometry – reading an object or location. (See Page 2 for further information)

Sιance – contact of spirits of the dead, group of people get together for this.

Trance – altered state of consciousness and of the mind so that the person can become more open to psychic sensations and messages.

Runes – is an ancient art of writing and means mystery. Each letter has its own meaning and is made up of different straight lines. The rune alphabet is called fulthark, the main ones is called elder fulthark and is divided into 3 main groups.

Chinese astrology – is based on the movement of the moon, its cycles in 12 years and represented by animals. Includes five elements – earth, fire, water, metal and wood and the way these influences our lives.

Scrying – This involves gazing into a reflective surface, can also use a glass of water or mirror. Different images may arise from past, present or future and they will need careful interpretation.

Reading tea or coffee – reading tea leaves, these will form patterns at the bottom of the cup that can be interpreted. This is known as tasseography or tasseomaney.

Geomancy – the scattering of pebbles, sand or seed on the earth. Then need to interpret their position on the ground.

Graphology – study of handwriting to show different aspects of a person character.

Crystals – Ancient mystics used to use crystals and today they are still be used for either protections, luck or healing. The vibrational balance of the crystals and the magic are in their colour, the rate at which the atoms vibrate. These vibrations can be matched to the energy given off by body’s aura.

Palmistry – is the oldest form of divination and involves reading the hands to give the reader insight to the future, judging character, by the lines on the hands and other features of them. For example, mounds, fingers, nails, joints and palms of your hands. There are 3 major lines: The heart line – reflects emotional side of personality and matters of the heart.  The head line – mentality of the person, mental fortitude and strength of will.  The life line – general vitality, about health, illness, energy, stability, lifestyle and major life changes. Other lines include, fate line, bracelets. These lines can change throughout life and they can all lead to a better understanding of you.

Remote viewing – use this to see what’s going on in the next room or even somewhere else in the world without even leaving the room. No actual physical movement is involved.

Astral travelling – separation of the astral body from the physical body, like an out of body experience. All have 7 bodies – one of each of the 7 planes of reality. An astral body is the one that has the aura, visible to psychics.

Premonition – predicting the future, these can be received in a form of a dream or as visions when we are conscious.

Dreams – your unconscious mind and they provide an insight into your life, the way see yourself and those around you.

Tarot – A traditional art of divination, the reader will have different ways of interpreting the meanings depending on the person who is reading them. Some people use the cards as an aid to help with their intuition. The major arcana use 22 cards and show major, dramatic impact on life. The minor cards consist of 56 minor arcana and reveal day to day events and how they affect you. The cards are used to predict the future revealing past and present from the symbols on the cards.  Each of these suits corresponds to a given element: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. The suits are taken to mean differently depending on the element they belong to. Therefore Earth tends to focus on family and money issues, whereas Air focuses on communication and the intellect.

Dowsing - The ability to find objects, plants, mineral, water and other objects with the aid of using 2 rods shaped in L’s. Although any other form can be used such as a pendulum or a branch of a hazel tree. The rods can be used to sense the subtle energies surrounding an object or even a person. The rods or the locator that is being used cross then this is meant to be when the item or what the person is looking for is found. The method of divination is proposed to be around seven thousand years old but the origin of dowsing is still unknown to this day. The main uses for dowsing are to dowse for water although in the Middle Ages it was used to find coal deposits. However it is used it is still a popular form of divination and many people charge companies to explore for them and to do test drilling or core sampling.

Ouija Board – Ouija boards came into existence as a parlor game in the mid-1800's, when spiritism and channeling were at the height of fashion The word Ouija is taken from the French word Oui meaning 'yes', and the German word Ja also meaning 'yes'.- It was in 1891 that a patent was granted to Elijah J Bond on the first modern Ouija Board. The following year the rights to the Ouija Board were purchased by William Fuld.  In 1966 the Parker Brothers purchased the rights to the Ouija Board and shifted its manufacturing facilities to Salem, Massachusetts.

 The spirits are believed to move the pointer and guide it around the board with words and letters. Many people object to this form of divination but others see it as a form of communication like any other. The modern Ouija Board is the combination of two tools used for scrying. The first is a wheel made up of the letters of the alphabet. The second was a glass, usually a wine glass which is inverted and placed in the middle.

The letters are usually written on small pieces of paper which are placed in a circle around the table. The next step is to make the setting as comfortable as possible then have one main person to ask the questions. Focus on specific questions that you would like to ask the board making sure they are open ended to get a yes or no reply.  Have someone write down the answers so that you can you can return to them at a later date.

Psychometry – Psychometry is another form of psychic divination using the sense of touch to get mental impression linked to it. Psychometric impressions may come in the form of emotions, sounds, scents, tastes or images. The visions can appear is single flat images, much like a photo, or as animations. As we exist in an electromagnetic energy reality, metal objects often work best..Psychometry differs from many other forms of scrying in that it is primarily concerned with seeing into the past. It is also of becoming aware of the characters, surroundings, or events connected with an individual by holding or touching an object, such as a watch or ring, that the individual possessed or that was strongly identified with the person.

Dreams – your unconscious mind and they provide an insight into your life, the way see yourself and those around you. A dream visitation involves the appearance of spiritual entity that can be in a form of an angel within the context of the real world. Numerous people say that these types of dreams involve a person that has passed away that visits a person in their dream. These can be a very peaceful and insightful experience for the individual, and may give them a sense of wellbeing.

Runes – Runes are an ancient set of symbols that are used in divination; it is an ancient art of writing and means mystery. They can be a set of wooden pieces each bearing a single rune is used in divination and spell work. Each letter has its own meaning and is made up of different straight lines. The rune alphabet is called fulthark, the main ones is called elder fulthark and is divided into 3 main groups.

To give a reading the runes are shuffled like dominoes and 13 are arranged face down in a circle with one rune in the middle. This is called the runic wheel. The runes are then turned face upwards one at a time and interpreted according to their position on the runic wheel.. They can also be placed into a bag and picked out when a person needs some guidance. The runes are used in an unconscious way and the person asks a question about what they want to know in their life. Then need to cast them out of the bag and if they are face up then focus on those runes, to see what they mean. If they are upside down then they have a different meaning. The person will take the meanings as they want to take them in terms of the question they have asked.

Scrying – The word scrying comes from the Anglo Saxon word descry, and it means reveal. This involves gazing into a reflective surface; any can be used such as a glass of water or mirror. Different images may arise from past, present or future and they will need careful interpretation. But scrying simply means the ability to see and focus upon an object. Sometimes a candle or incense stick can be used and the smoke helps the person focus more on the object. Usually a mist can be seen before anything is seen from the past, present or future. After practicing then maybe images and pictures will be seen, but will need to use a technique that is useful for you. It could take weeks or months to perfect the technique. Again, the meanings of the images will depend on the questions that the scryer have asked or the things that they expect to see while they are doing this technique.
