These chakras keep our energy balanced, and keep us healthy.
They filter the universal energies in order to keep that
balance.
If
one or more of the chakras are blocked, it can cause a
disturbance in the flow of energies, thus creating illnesses
ranging from physical, to mental, to spiritual.
Each
Chakra has it's own name, and relates to a specific area of the
body. Often two or more chakras will work together to keep one
area of the body in harmony.
There are 7 Major Chakra's within the human body.
These are:
Crown
Third Eye
Throat
Heart
Solar Plexus
Sacral
Root
Each Chakra is also represented by a colour. The chart below
indicates where the chakras are located and their corresponding
colour.
It also gives information about what each chakra represents and
their inner meanings.

Chakra Energy Transference
Your own
Personal Energy Transference, when it comes to working with
chakras, is actually fairly simple, effective and fast. This
method works extremely well working on blockages in singular
chakras, rather than all of them.
However, unlike disciplines such as Reiki, this method is strictly
for working on others and not for self-healing. You must rely on
the natural sensitivity of your hands, and intuition when checking
someone's chakras. Unless you are extremely close personally, to
the recipient, you shouldn’t actually touch his/her body. The
energy radiating from the chakras is generally strong enough to be
felt by the hands as much as 12 inches out from the body. Usually
4 to 6 inches is close enough. Checking the chakras in this
manner, by holding your hands over each one in turn, is called
scanning. Techniques such as Spiritual Healing follow very
similar principles.
To begin – ask the person to lie down and get comfortable, take a
few deep breaths, and relax. To sensitize your hands, clap them
together once, as hard as you can stand then rub them together
strongly, and give them a quick shake. Hold your hands over the
root chakra, and allow yourself to attune to feeling it’s
energy. If you feel any pulling sensations, sluggishness or
resistance in the energy, make note. Proceed through each chakra,
making note of each one that requires attention.
NOTE: if you feel anything more than a slight imbalance in the
crown chakra, do not attempt this method at all. Crown chakra
healings require a great deal of experience and really should be
treated specifically by a trained medical or psychiatric
professional.
Once again, give your hands a quick shake, to get rid of any
energies that may have attached to you. Move to each chakra in
turn, feeling the energy build inside you, from your heart chakra,
spreading to your hands and into the chakra you are working on.
See it glow with your energy, pushing out the imbalances to be
grounded and cleansed by the natural energy of the earth.
Move on to each chakra that needs this work, transferring your own
healing energy to them.
When
you have finished, wash your hands under running water to remove
any negative energies that may remain behind.
Chakra Meditation
One of the most efficient methods to clear and balance your own
chakras is to perform a chakra meditation at least once per month.
This will help to keep your chakras healthy and catch any problems
early. Also, this exercise can be performed whenever you feel you
need a boost to your immune system or energy.
To begin, place yourself in a half-lotus position (gently cross
legged, straight back). If this is uncomfortable for you, sit
upright in a chair with both feet flat on the ground. Take several
slow, deep breaths. Close your eyes and take slow and regular
breaths to even out and slow down your breathing in preparation
for meditating.
In your mind's eye, visualize a sphere of clear, white light –
running along your spine from the tail bone up to your neck. As it
spreads up into your head, feel it grow and envelop you. Then, see
it flair out of the top of your head, and disappear into the air
above you. You will begin to feel relaxed and slightly energized.
You should take a moment and then continue the breathing exercise.
Now you can begin. Starting with your root chakra, visualize a red
spinning light flowing into the chakra itself – spinning the wheel
clockwise. Keep this visualization for about five minutes. Then,
take a deep breath and gently push the light along your spine,
however send it directly out of your crown chakra. Take another
moment, and continue the breathing exercise.
Once you have settled again, you can repeat the process with the
sacral chakra – drawing orange light in through the root chakra to
the sacral. Again, give this some time, spinning clockwise, before
releasing it.
This procedure should be repeated for each chakra, using the
corresponding colored light. If you find a chakra that feels
resistant to the light leaving it, hold it there a moment or two
longer, until it flows freely.
This method can be used on others by talking them through the
steps, in a guided meditation format.
